Sofia is home and doing fine. She had her CT scan and we are due to meet with the surgeon to figure out what he wants to do for her surgery and most importantly when it can be done! The sooner the better as she is scooching along (not quite crawling forward) and very active and happy.

Warm day!
This is the first nice weekend we've had in months so Daddy and Daniel went outside to play. Here's Daniel posing and playing with the rocks. He's been a little cranky recently after his 18 month shots and he's been waking up WAY too early for us. Hopefully things will get better when the clocks change. Mommy is also trying all sorts of food to try to get him to eat more, he is still 19 lbs or so and really needs to catch up to his sister!

Bigger girl!
Today Sofia was upsized to a 3.5mm trach because she's a big girl! She's been on the same trach since she was half her current size so it was overdue. Hopefully this will let her breathe easier and be less susceptible to mucus plugs and other yucky stuff when she gets sick.
She's going to stay in the hospital for at least another night to make sure she is over her cold (no definite test results yet, of course) and that she is ok w/ the new trach.
Here she is supporting Daddy's Alma Mater from a few days ago.

Really Cookin!
We got a play kitchen off of Craigslist and here is Daniel checking it out!

Unfortunately Sofia is back in the hospital. She caught the cold that Daniel had from Saturday and was working too hard to breathe for us to be comfortable. We brought her in to Yale and she's going to spend at least the night. She's mostly good and on some oxygen and pregnazone but she does have some occasional fits and is coughing a lot.
We'll probably be snowed in tomorrow so it looks like Fri or Sat for her to come home.

Happy President's Day!
Sofia went to see GI today and she is officially at the 25th percentile of weight, non-adjusted for her age!! She's being switched to pediasure because she's a big girl now! Here she is, post eye surgery with her eyes *almost* straightened out.

Daniel continues to be smaller than Sofia, weighing in at 19.2lbs today. Here he is playing with Grandpa.

Back from Surgery
Sofia is back from surgery. She's not quite herself and all she wants to do is sleep and she hasn't yet opened up her eyes but according to the drs everything went well. She still has her 90% stenosis so we're on the same plan as before, planning on an April surgery to reconstruct her airway.
Hopefully her eye surgery went well. We're supposed to go back for a checkup tomorrow but it looks like the blizzard has other plans for us.

A Day of Firsts
Yesterday was a day of firsts for both kids...
1) Sofia rolled from back to front on our floor mats by herself. She does this in her crib often but never on the floor.
2) Daniel took five steps from his physical therapist to Mommy. He was trying to put the lid back onto a container of bubbles.
3) Sofia tolerated the passy-muir valve for over ten minutes. ENT is impressed, given the stenosis in her trachea, that she is even able to tolerate it at all.

Tongue Roller
Sofia ate crackers today at her feeding therapist and continues to get bigger and bigger. She's almost 21 pounds!
She's getting ready for her eye surgery and scoping next week too. Hopefully it will be a minor event with a quick recovery. We're starting to get the details sorted on her future surgeries and contacted The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia for a second opinion.
In other news, there's been lots of traveling in and out of the house with Grandma needing to be away a lot and Daddy having to go to London so things are crazier than normal (which is pretty crazy!).
And you can see from this slideshow that Sofia has inherited the tongue rolling gene. Not from Daddy!
