Raymond has passed...

I am sorry to say that Raymond passed at 6:28pm today. Complications due to his infection resulted in a massive level 4 brain bleed that essentially left him with no chance of life without significant impairment. He was also suffering as his fluids continued to build so we made the difficult decision to let him go...

We will love you always, Ray.

Christine and Ted,

I am so sorry for your loss. I was constantly thinking of you and your babies. I too have 24 week triplets. I can not, however, even begin to imagine the pain and loss you are feeling right now.

Christine and Ted,

I am so sorry for your loss. I pray that your other two babies continue to thrive as the days pass. I know that it was a difficult decision to make regarding Raymond as we had to make that same decision. We had 24 week triplets and lost one due to a grade IV and severe damage to his brain. I pray that you find comfort in the days ahead. I know you don't even know me, but I want you to feel free to leave me a message in our blog if you ever need anything. Your family will be in my prayers.

We haven't met but unfortunately there are many of us out there who have lost infants. My wife and I benefitted from a support group known as M.I.S.S. (http://www.missfoundation.org/group/index.html).

The one thing that I encourage you to do is to take care of each other and don't forget to eat... You will remain in my thoughts and prayers.

Christie and Ted,

No words any of us say or write can ever help make you feel better at a time like this, but know that you are all in our thoughts and prayers and we wish you strength in the days, weeks and months ahead. While I am sure you have some peace knowing Raymond is not suffering anymore and is in a happier place, I can't imagine the extreme pain you must be in right now having lost one of your babies. As you know, I miscarried my first baby, and I know how hard it is to wish so hard that your baby could stay with you here on earth and live a long, healthy life.

Please call me if you ever need to talk and PLEASE seek out support groups for parents who have lost babies. I did that when I miscarried and found tremendous support in knowing what I was feeling and going through was normal and they really helped me grieve for my loss and learn to move on. You will never be the same and we will never forget little Raymond who was a fighter, but you will survive and be strong for Sofia and Daniel.

We send you our sympathies and the biggest hugs you can imagine. We also will add Raymond's name to our church Prayer Tree this weekend so his name is read aloud at this Sunday's mass. May the angels hear his name and take good care of him.

Love,
Helena, Chris and Alexis

Raymond,
For years now, I have been imagining you. When you were born, the imaginings became real, and then I lost you, but I will never lose you from my memory. In the days I have left, every day, I will think of you lovingly. You will go where I go. Never has such a short life made such a great impact on one's soul. Love, granddaddy.
