Daniel is better today and the doctors are not sure it's an infection, but they will be watching because of some irregular gas patterns in his intestines on the x-rays. No cultures grew over the standard 48 hour period. The latest x-rays looked better this morning. They were also able to reduce his ventilation rate a bit. Here is Daniel today holding onto his breathing tube.

I'm so happy everything went well today! What a relief that the surgery went smoothly, I hope Sofia heals quickly and that Daniel's digestion continues to improve.
Fantastic news!! I'm so relieved. I will let Harry know that he has to be as strong as Sophia for his surgery tomorrow. What an inspiration!!!!

Sofia, today I talked with wonderful friends about a flyfishing trip to Montana, and I look forward to it. Even more I look forward to taking you and Daniel fishing some day for sunnies. Get well, pumpkin, and Daniel, likewise, get well so grandmommie and I can spoil you. Love, granddaddy.
This is a great news. Sofia had a successful surgery to close the PDA and Daniel may not had the NEC.

We have been following everyday the progress of Sofia and Daniel at the NICU. Happy to hear that the operation went very well, but as doctors warned, such "simple" operarion is still a major stress to anyone especially such small premies. Doctors/nurses/technologists are certainly doing a good job, caring for these tiny babies, and I am sure they will continue to have knowledge, skill and wisdom to provide best care possible for them.

Thank God Sofia's surgery went well! We prayed for her last night and are so extremely happy that it went smoothly. We hope she has a quick recovery and continues to improve. Same for Daniel...may both of them continue to improve and get better, bigger, and healthier every day. I know watching your child go through any surgery, even "routine" ones, are scary, so hang in there Christie and Ted. We are thinking of you all.
