The First Bottle

Mommy gave Daniel his first bottle today - 5 cc's of milk. He seemed to do well with it so we will try more tomorrow. Both babies are now up to 30 cc's per feeding. Daniel is 3 lbs, 13 oz and Sofia is 3 lbs, 11 oz. Sofia has lost weight this week from the diuretics. She was puffier today and was given a dose of lasix. They weaned her pressure this morning, and she was breathing rapidly. Hopefully, she will get used to the new settings and not have to go back up.

Grandmommy and Granddaddy visited Sofia and Daniel on Saturday. They both looked so much bigger than they did several weeks ago. We were thrilled to see how much better they are doing. Sofia spit up a little basically because she was piqued that she was only getting milk and her parents and grandparents were going to Paul Newman's for dinner. Daniel did not mind that, but he was perturbed at having been changed, weighed and measured by his nurse in the glass isolet. He confided that he felt as if he was in The Truman Show. We'll see you beautiful grandchildren around your first Thanksgiving. Love, granddaddy Ralph

Congratulations, Mommy, on giving Daniel his bottle. Such a great milestone that many of us I am sure have taken for granted.
