Daddy cuddled with Sofia and she seemed to be doing a bit better today with just a few less desats. The CBC showed that she needed a blood transfusion. Hopefully this will help her to better oxygenate her blood. The most recent culture of her secretions resulted in less of the bacteria found prior, so the antibiotics are possibly beginning to work for her. Sofia is still looking puffy and quite bigger than Daniel due to the fluid retention.
Both babies are now on 6 cc's of milk every hour. Daniel was happy and looking around today. His rate on the ventilator was lowered and he no longer seems to always be pulling at the tubes in his nose. He does like to hold onto the feeding tubes near his face though.
